This little cardboard box has a lot to tell despite its age! In perfect condition, its design with superb bright colors in shades of yellow, blue and red is typical of the retro midcentury style! Originally with 40 labels, it has 23 remaining. It has, however, been carefully preserved and is part of the history of world label leader Avery Dennison Corp.
Dennison Manufacturing Company was founded in 1844 in Maine by Andrew and Aaron Dennison as an addition to the family jewelry store. It was originally a jewelry box manufacturing company. It was ultimately the youngest son Eliphalet Dennison who developed the company by expanding and diversifying production, and moving the company to Massachusetts in 1898. Almost 100 years later, in 1990, Avery International Corp merged with Dennison and became Avery Dennison Corp, the world leader.
