This little cardboard box has a lot to tell despite its age! In perfect condition, it still carries all of its labels (and even a little more), and is part of the history of world label leader Avery Dennison Corp.
Dennison Manufacturing Company was founded in 1844 in Maine by Andrew and Aaron Dennison as an addition to the family jewelry store. It was originally a jewelry box manufacturing company. It was ultimately the youngest son Eliphalet Dennison who developed the company by expanding and diversifying production, and moving the company to Massachusetts in 1898. Almost 100 years later, in 1990, Avery International Corp merged with Dennison and became Avery Dennison Corp, the world leader.
The Canadian factory was set up in Drummondville, Quebec in 1930. This is where our little 'made in Canada' collector's item was made, between 1930 and 1940.
